So it has been forever since I posted anything. John has healed quite nicely since his accident.
Cory got married December 17 to Shaely Robinson. We now have a new daughter in law that we love and is perfect for Cory.
It has been 6 years since all my boys have been together at one time. It is quite nice to have all the family home and together.
Logan and Tracie just moved in this weekend. Logan got a job here and is working at Recovered Energy with Cory. He will be going to school in the fall and wants to try and find a home while the market is good for buyers.
We are going to have two more grand babies this late summer, early fall. We are excited for them.
I have had the crafting bug a lot lately and just can't seem to pull myself away from the craft room.
I will post the cards I have made as soon as I find my USB cable that goes with my camera, since my computer is not card reader ready.
I wish I were better at blogging. Oh well!
now you know why I have a hard time keeping a journal. I am not so good at put my thoughts to words.
Any whoo, I just want to tell all of my family and friends that I love them and I am so lucky to have them in my life!

JOHN BIFFED IT!!!

So today around 5pm I got a call on the phone from John. He was on a mountain bike trip and he called me to pick him up because he crashed. Cory and I went to pick him up. He was walking fine and things, but his face was mangled. After a long ride with speeds up to 50 mph, he was just winding down the last stretch when suddenly he saw a guy down the trail a ways. He slowed to about 5mph and got to one side of the trail when the trail under him gave way and he face planted into the dirt. We took him to the urgent care center, but he had lacerations deep inside of his lower lip. So we took him to the ER and they called in an oral surgeon. He had a another deep laceration on his forehead in the shape of a Y. Other than some cuts and scrapes, he is ok. Oh yes, and he chipped his tooth. Good thing our deductible is already met this year!! No broken bones, but just cuts and scrapes. He will be fine, but a little tender for a while. That was a scare, but everything is OK. At the hospital Cory was so interested in what was going on, he stared over the doctor's shoulder during the whole thing and asked all kinds of questions all along the way while Shaely and I sat and talked. (We weren't really interested in the mess of gore.)
Here are all the pictures:
Look at that big hole where is lip ripped open
Y cut in the forehead:
After the surgery, but before getting cleaned up:
Chipped tooth action:
Here is the mess made after it all. There was a vein that was cut during his wreck that would not stop bleeding. The doctor tried to coderize it, but it wouldn't seal. So he lasso'd it with some synthetic thread that dissolves in time and tied it off and then closed the stitches.

Fun Stuff

This past weekend I went to Utah, I hitched a ride with Cory and John, so I could meet up with my sisters and I snuck my mom in too! Actually it was just a quick day trip to the Flower wholesalers to get flowers for Shaely's bouquet and and other fun stuff. We,meaning Mom and I were dropped off at Marla's. We then headed to Murray to the the Cheesecake factory! We had to have lunch to do such hard and tedious shopping! We met Debbie for Lunch. We girls have to get our time in together somehow. Even if it is only for lunch and shopping.

So we found all the flowers and whatnot without too much difficulty, then we went to another shop (I won't mention the name) and I found some cute things to make some Christmas gifts. I was so happy to find those treasures. Pocatello does not offer too much in the way of variety for crafts and fun stuff like that. BOOHOO!

I am looking forward to having family here this weekend for Cory's mission report! It seems like he has been home for a while. Oh, Woops ust happened that Conference was the following Sunday, then we had Fast Sunday, then High Council Sunday, then the Primary program, now Cory will finally get to give his talk. It will be Halloween! I am anxious to see the grandkids in their Halloween costumes. I hope it is not too cold either! The last two days have been very chilly!

Elder Thompson is home

He is home and it has been so good to see him again.
Logan and Tracie, took him to the store and bought him some new duds.
That was so nice of them!
Cory is such a blessing in our lives. I was kind of nervous to have him come home,
because we have been so blessed while he was on his misssion.
I hope we still get some blessings.
Now i am anxious to hear some of the experiences that he has had.
I know that he has not had much sleep the last couple of days so hopefully he
can get a good nights rest tonight!
Oh it has been a happy day!

the latest news

Life has been good and busy this summer! Love to be busy just not too busy!
John has been trying to get a shed built. He finally has the cement pad poured. thanks to good helpers. Greg and Bob Gibbs and Matt Hansen, thanks so much! Now we are just waiting for his next available day to start building the shed. Maybe Cory will have to help finish it when he gets home. He comes home from his mission on September 28 at 12 noon. I can hardly believe it is so close now. The time has gone quickly! He will report his mission either on the 3rd Sunday in October or the 5th Sunday. the Bishop gave me the date of the 31 Halloween Sunday but there could be a possibility that one of the High Council men will want to have him speak with him. So I will keep you posted as to which date it will be.
I have been wanting to craft again. I did get a few cards made recently I will post later. Maybe!

I want to wish our grandson David Forscutt a very Happy birthday today! I hope you have a terrific birthday! My birthday card to you will be late as I didn't get it in the mail in time! sorry!

Happy day to all!

I have had a very busy Summer! We went to Park City for a Thompson family reunion and 3 days later John and I headed off to girls camp. And next week we have a Whiting family reunion. I love having so much to do in the summer yet it would be less hectic to have a few weeks in between activities. I am not complaining about having fun It is just all the work in between the fun that has to be done.Whew! I have had a bum leg because my sciatic nerve has been giving me fits so it is making my life not so pleasant. But I am truly grateful to such a great family! They were and are a great help to me. Greg and Alexis had Vella blessed this last Sunday and I was kind of out of commission so all the family pitched in to help me out! It is kind of nice to get the needed help from my family. Everyone! I mean even the kids from out of town really did a lot with meals and cleaning up. Family! You are AMAZING! THANKS! I Love You all so much!
